It had been a long day already for Devan; she had gotten up at six and went for a run with the dogs before showering and lounging around the house. She wore a cute little sundress, black flats, and her honey blonde hair was in a high ponytail with. Devan had been at work for about two hours; she had gotten ten bucks in tips so far and she had had about six customers. It was clear to her co-workers that something was wrong and on her mind. She had been working there for five years; they knew pretty much everything about her. It was around eight in the evening and the band had started to play; so famous group or wannabes that got the gig. Devan didn't pay much attention. She took orders, brought them to the table, filled drinks. That was her mind set that night. Finally she had a slight break and the got her back behind the counter as she gulped her water. They bombarded her with quiet questions. Devan sighed as she looked at them. She couldn't get anything past her coworkers, they were the closest thing she had to a family. Well..my neighbor came over yesterday and complained about my dogs....So then I got a visit by my landlord, who constantly comes up just because he's cool..told me I have a month to get out.. Because my stupid neighbor is afraid for her life because of the pit bulls...which is stupid because she knows the won't hurt her...she gives them treats all the time...but he told me that he was sorry and that there were complaints about the dogs..so it's either the dogs or me..and then he said he knew that I would never get rid of them..so he gave me a month... She said in a quiet voice. She took a deep breath as her coworkers looked at her dumbfounded. They all knew her dogs and they knew they wouldn't hurt anything. Devan sighed as she gulped more water. I mean..I wanted my own place anyways..but I thought I would have a little while longer until I had to make up my mind on that. Her shoulders shrugged. She looked to her tables, most of them were paying attention to the live music, so she could easily stand here and hydrate herself while she waited for one of them to flag her down.
